Prevention of kidney problems of diabetes
Diabetes is one of the most frequent and dangerous causes of kidney problems.
Here are some quick tips to prevent kidney problems from diabetes, compiled from various reliable sources and online publications:
Monitor your blood glucose level carefully. The level of glucose in the blood, or the level of sugar in the blood, tells you how much sugar is present in your system. Failure to maintain a normal range may contribute to kidney failure. If you have any concerns, ask your doctor about the HbA1c test, which is a laboratory test to determine the average blood glucose over a period of two to three months.
Maintain a healthy blood pressure. High blood pressure, or hypertension, damages tissue in the kidneys and causes kidney failure. Ask your doctor about ACE inhibitor medications. This type of pf medication helps control blood pressure.
An ACE inhibitor called Capoten (the generic name is captopril) has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. UU To protect the kidneys in people with diabetes.
Schedule an annual physical exam that includes a urinalysis. This will help your doctor detect anything that is not normal. Be sure to have other kidney tests that your doctor recommends.
