Do not ignore these 10 early symptoms of diabetes. Dr. Ashwathi Soman, medical officer of the Govt mobile dispensary, talks about diabetes: symptoms, causes and treatments
Diabetes mellitus, commonly called diabetes, is a group of metabolic disorders in which there are high levels of sugar in the blood over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar levels include frequent urination, increased thirst and increased hunger.
Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose levels, or blood sugar, are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps glucose enter cells to give them energy. With type 1 diabetes, your body does not produce insulin.
There are different tests that are used to determine if you have diabetes, so doing only one of them is not enough for a correct diagnosis. But you should never brush, postpone, ignore or avoid going to the doctor if you notice a change in your health, either in the symptoms of this list or in general.
You have to be prepared to invest some money and time in your wellbeing because after all it is the most precious thing you have!
